Judkins Middle School had a long-running tradition called the Civil War Encampment, which sadly ended in 2017. Mr. Terry Handy and other social studies teachers like Mr. Blake Miller put tons of effort into curating a historical re-enactment of a Union camp in the Civil War for literally decades. When my grade was getting ready for it, I heard that it was going to be the last one, so I decided to document it. It was at the end of 8th grade year for me, and I had never really made a real video before then. I took a ton of footage with my GoPro and I spent the entire summer editing the video as I learned how to use Premiere Pro. That really paid off, and at the end of the summer I burned discs of the video and sent it to all the teachers involved, and I uploaded the clip on YouTube. Keep in mind it was made by 8th grade me as my first project, but it is still an interesting video and I am super glad I made it because it got me started on videography. My skills have improved a lot since then, but if you still want to watch it, the video is linked here.
