I have always been fascinated by technology. I had a digital camera when I was a toddler and learning to use it at such a young age fostered that fascination. In middle school I got into videography using a GoPro and in sophomore year I purchased a camera that could do high-quality videos and photos. I spent the next two years learning how to use it while reporting for the high school newspaper and competing in Skills USA for photography.
When I started high school I also joined the FRC Robotics Team 1388 which was a very good experience. I was the robot driver for the team all four years and I was the head of the Strategy subteam for three years. I was the team Vice President, as well as the editor in chief of the school newspaper, the Eagle Times, during my senior year.
Journalism, photography, videography, and robotics all point to using technology to solve real-world problems, with teams, like sharing important information. I am continuing on this path by studying computer engineering, and I hope to use that experience to help create solutions to problems related to climate change.
Currently:
I am a sophomore at Boston University studying computer engineering. I lived on the engineering floor during freshman year. This summer I am working at BU’s Undergraduate Programs office in the engineering department. I am also doing personal research projects at the EPIC building. I am available to do media work and interested in doing technical writing in my spare time.
